William Allen White undefined

In 1922, William Allen White, editor of the Emporia (Kan.) Gazette, published "To An Anxious Friend," an impassioned defense of the freedom of speech. For this he won the Pulitzer Prize, the first Kansan to do so. This short documentary was produced as part of "The Pulitzer Project in Kansas: William Allen White and the Freedom of Speech," a joint venture of the Humanities Kansas, the Pulitzer Prizes Board, and the Federation of State Humanities Councils in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prizes.
