Celebrating 100 Years: McPherson County All Schools Day

Produced by McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau, this documentary examines the 100-year tradition of celebrating education in McPherson County. In the early 1900s county school superintendent I.C. Meyer traveled all across McPherson County in south central Kansas, to personally deliver diplomas to 8th grade graduates. After doing this for some time, Meyer approached McPherson merchants to see if they would sponsor a countywide graduation ceremony for the 8th grade students, which established “All Schools Day.”

All Schools Day is a week-long celebration of McPherson’s dedication to education, complete with fun activities for multi-generational audiences to enjoy. Learn more about this wholesome celebration in the documentary Celebrating 100 Years: McPherson County All Schools Day.
