Presenter George Elmore will explore the role of Buffalo Soldiers on the Santa Fe Trail. The 10th Cavalry were enlisted African American men assigned to the trail to provide shelter, fuel, and other necessities; protect travelers and merchants; and take jobs that white soldiers did not want to do.
