"The Buffalo Soldiers on the Santa Fe Trail" exhibit explores the lives of Buffalo Soldiers posted to forts along the Santa Fe Trail and their complex legacy. Learn about the history of the 10th Cavalry, enlisted African American men assigned to the trail to provide shelter, fuel, and other necessities; protect travelers and merchants; and take on jobs that white soldiers did not want to do.
