"Sunflower Journeys" is a documentary television series that airs on KTWU Public Television, Topeka.

Hosted by Chris Hernandez

Our exploration of the physiographic regions of Kansas continues in the Smoky Hills of central and western Kansas with Rex Buchanan and Craig Freeman. Then, Host Chris Hernandez is joined by co-authors Rex Buchanan, Josh Svaty and Burke Briggs who talk about the publication of their book – "The Petroglyphs of the Kansas Smoky Hills." They discuss the challenges of visiting and photographing the ancient Indian carvings, most of which are located on privately owned land. Finally, we revisit a story about The Smoky Hills River Festival, another festival cancelled by COVID-19.
