The March by E.L. Doctorow

Date and Time: March 13, 2020, 10:00 AM CT

Location: Basehor Community Library, 1400 158th St, Basehor
(view on google maps)

From the TALK series, The Civil War
Discussion Leader: Rosemary Kolich

General William Tecumseh Sherman's famous March, the rapacious scorched-earth tromping of Union forces across Georgia and the Carolinas, seemed designed to prove his slogan that "war is hell." Doctorow in this novel brings to bear a perspective that blends panoramic overview with local experience, freely mixing fictional creations with historical figures.

*As plans change rapidly due to the COVID-19 virus, HK advises that you contact the local coordinators directly to see if this event is still taking place as scheduled.
