Leo Oliva, PhD, focuses on the conflicting uses of religion to prevent or encourage women's rights and the connection to other reform movements of the day.

Megan Rohleder from the Kansas State Historical Society reveals a Kansan and her quest to vote taken from her 1912 diary in the Kansas Historical Society Archive.

Ann Birney, PhD, portrays Elizabeth Hampstead, a composite character created from letters in the Kansas Historical Society archive.

Companion exhibition "We Want the Vote" is open January 19 through April 19. Exhibit depicts the involvement of Edwards County citizens in the suffrage movement.

This event is part of "19TH: Piecing Together Women's Suffrage," public exhibitions and programs that commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment by exploring the national struggle for women's right to vote and the suffragists of Edwards County.
