"The Tree" follows three days in the life of 88-year-old Dorothy Thorp as she drives from Kansas to Indiana on US Route 40 to reunite with an old friend. Inspired by the relationship between the director's mother and her childhood best friend, "The Tree" addresses aging and independence.

Q&A with filmmaker following screening.

Event is part of "Resilience Through Story," public programs at MidAmerica Nazarene University and the Olathe Public Library exploring how stories allow humans to cope with adverse life events.
