Learn about recently-discovered archival documents that explore the complex relationship between missionaries and local Indigenous tribes. Includes an 1859 land grant, signed by President James Buchanan, awarding 320 acres to the Presbyterian Foreign Missions which later became Highland Community College.

Panelists include Allan Kelley, Vice Chair of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas; Lance Foster, Iowa Tribal Preservation Office; and Greg Olson, Curator at the Missouri State Archives.
