Strugglers Hill Neighborhood
The Humanities Kansas initiative “Kansans Tell Their Stories” provided Kansas communities the opportunities to define and share what it is that makes their community unique. Strugglers Hill is a historic neighborhood in Kansas City Kansas that produced prominent African-American Kansan influencers.
As this documentary illustrates, it is essential for the stories of the community to be recorded and shared because it archives our stories, our relationships, our experiences, and our histories. These archived local stories are the building blocks of understanding broader experiences.
