Games I Play with My Father: Building Connections Through Board Games
Presentation by: Daniel Ireton
Playing board games is entertaining, but the benefits of playing games extend beyond the realm of entertainment. Board games have the power to bring people together, foster cooperative and competitive play, increase brain function, and connect us with our past. This presentation focuses on how designer board games can connect players to history and how play brings communities together across varying backgrounds and generations. Attendees will learn about games that focus on rural life, promote critical thinking and communication, and build community.
