Coronado Heights, a scenic overlook and park near Lindsborg, was constructed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s. This site is named for Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, a Spanish explorer that traveled through the area in 1541 in search of a legendary city of gold

Part of "Hidden Kansas," a monthly radio segment showcasing places and stories that reveal Kansas's diverse population.
