Smarsh discusses her 2018 memoir, "Heartland: Working Hard and Being Broke in the Richest Country on Earth." Smarsh is a Kansas native and journalist that reports on socioeconomic class, politics, and public policy. Her memoir is a finalist for the National Book Award.
