Presented by Frank Waln, (Sicangu Lakota), Native American storyteller and hip hop artist.

Discussion explores the tradition of Native American storytelling and its use in hip hop music to spread awareness of cultural issues. Waln is from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota and has been featured in Buzzfeed, Vibe, NPR, ESPN, and MTV's Rebel Music Native America.

Introduction provided by Shayna Leahy, music instructor at Highland Community College.

This event is part of "Highland Community College Cultural Series," community discussions exploring the disenfranchisement of indigenous peoples and the role of social justice in medicine and technology.
