Location: Hall Center for the Humanities, 900 Sunnyside Ave, Lawrence

STRANGERS IN TOWN tells the story of how global migration unexpectedly transformed and enriched Garden City, Kansas. It brought great challenges to the community, including demands for housing, social services, education, and infrustucture. For the current students at Garden City High School, the town's remarkable diversity is all they've ever known.

Post-film discussion with Steve Lerner, filmmaker, and Amy Longa, Director of the International Rescue Committee Office in Garden City.

Part of the Kansas African Studies Center's program, "Migration in the Heartland."

Sponsored by: Finney County Historical Society
